Portland, OR

Did you like the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz? There certainly is no place like home if your home is in Portland, Oregon, which was recently voted the #1 Greenest US City. http://www.sustainlane.com/us-city-rankings/. Portland is the perfect place for those of you who want to walk, ride your bike or even tear up the slopes. Check out the view:
This City of Roses is named for its famous Rose Gardens: http://www.rosegardenstore.org/. Don't miss the peaceful Japanese Garden (shown at top) or Classical Chinese Garden, which is conveniently located near the historic Union Depot. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiI_XQzTgbI to see the trains speed by. The air is clean, the sky is blue (even though the dirty rumor is that it's always raining), and the Columbia River twists through a downtown surrounded by mountains, including the snow-capped Mount Hood. If you're into the beach, it's only about an hour to the Pacific Ocean. For more details visit us: http://www.travelportland.com/visitors/portland_profile.html. Better yet, order a book from Powell's, the greatest bookstore on earth:
